Poetry Events Update: Mark Your Calendars

Attn: Arkansas!

Date & Time: Wednesday, October 3rd at 7:30 PM

Venue:  University of Arkansas Union Theatre

Details: The best poets in the world are coming to Fayetteville for a full week of competition, and there’s only one spot left! Wednesday night at the University of Arkansas Union Theatre, we will hold a slam open to ANYONE from anywhere who wishes to try and clinch the last spot in the competition. Poets will travel from all over and bring their best poems, making this one of the most “hard fought” competitions of the festival. And the best news? It’s absolutely FREE to see!

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the competition starts promptly at 8.

Rules: 2 round, 3 minute, reverse order slam; all originals, no repeats. No props, costumes, or musical accompaniment.

Details: Future will be headlining the “Next to Blow” open mic!

 

Kentucky

Date & Time: Friday, September 14th at 9:00 PM

Venue: Jazzyblu, 815 W Market St, Louisville, KY, 40202, US

Details: Featuring at what is quickly becoming my favorite stop in the mid south! JazzyBlu is one of the sexiest venues in the country for poetry, spoken word and live music!

 

Ohio

Date & Time: Saturday, September 15th at 08:30 PM

Venue: Zanzibar Brews, 750 E Long St, Columbus, OH, 43203, US

Details: Future will be headlining at the “Spit n Sketch Live” open mic poetry and music showcase!
